A Second Way for Water

Near the end of the dry season, an old clay channel fails to carry water to a hillside orchard. The water has not vanished. Below the break it has made a wet habitat, with reeds around a frog's pond and an insect overhead. samira brings the problem to the village, where repair becomes a question of how to keep two living places supplied. A goat named thinoe offers assistance in the customary manner of goats: without being asked.

This is an original Phi story. Phi is the source text, and the English lines follow it as close readings. Eight optional roots enter from seven learning modules when the work needs their distinctions; the remaining content vocabulary is base.
