Domain modules

Systems and Shared Infrastructure

The pump that fills the cistern draws power from the same line as the mill, and on the hottest afternoon of the year both draw at once. Capacity and load ask whether the line holds; function and state ask whether either machine works. The wisdom of the whole arrangement remains a different question.

Like every module, the specialized words are optional and use ordinary Phi grammar. A speaker who has not learned them can always ask for a core paraphrase. Learning them makes no one an engineer and grants no authority over the systems they describe.

The chapter table below introduces 33 module roots. Shared classifications bring the optional learning list to 50 words; base phelure store is taught alongside it. The JSON entries in vocabulary/content/ remain authoritative for each word's form and full definition.

The module does not replace what Phi already says about devices, movement, and repair. It adds narrower technical relations around these familiar resources.

Storage belongs to base vocabulary

phelure has no modules field. A jar stores food and a cistern stores water before either becomes a system under analysis. The Systems chapter keeps the verb close because capacity and retrieval conditions often make storage technical, but the act itself is ordinary.

The verbs used in this chapter receive their event or result nouns through Phi's ordinary event-noun rule: kelitho can name a function, pherami a dependency, sekaru a transfer, ketora control, phelure storage, masuro calibration, thonuki failure, and nilaki inspection. The adjectives poruli, wepanu, and koluri likewise name efficiency, redundancy, and reliability through the quality-noun rule; their entries remain adjective-only as required by the lexicon schema. All nine electrical and analytical roots are nouns, so the module gains no special derivation or technical grammar.

Systems, components, functions, and states

terura names a whole selected for analysis, and its norui boundary decides which monaki components count as inside it. A different question can draw a different boundary, or treat one component as a system in its own right. Calling something a system opens an explanation; it does not close one.

kelitho says a component performs its characteristic operation; mirela gathers the chosen conditions describing it at one moment. The function, the timing, and the evidence behind the claim are each worth keeping separate.

pherami states a real requirement between elements, without turning that requirement into a cause, an entailment, or an authority.

Variables, patterns, and explanations

A wuneri is the feature allowed to vary in a model, test, record, or control process. The name of the variable belongs in Phi; its exact symbol, value, and unit remain in the source record. A mirela state may gather several variables at one time, while a herani trend follows observations in an order.

hosari says that two variables differ together across the stated observations. It makes no causal claim. harusi asks a different question: whether a pattern at the level of the whole arises through component interactions even though no component alone has it.

A hoshemi hypothesis can propose a cause for a correlation or an account of emergence. Evidence and testing then decide how well the proposal fares. The vocabulary gives the inquiry more shelves; it does not fill them by itself.

Inputs, outputs, and transfers

koewi and thirulo are always relative to whichever boundary is in question, so the same water, energy, or signal can be one system's output and the next system's input in the very same sentence. Their unlike forms help keep that direction audible.

sekaru is movement from a source toward a recipient. Flowing, carrying, sending, and transferring can all describe pieces of the same event, but none of them alone proves the whole amount arrived unchanged.

Electricity, voltage, and power

thewaki names electricity broadly. rishonu is electric charge, and sephaki is charge in motion. The distinction matters whenever a component holds separated charge while no current continues to flow, or a current transfers energy without being that energy.

poweshi identifies voltage, the electrical potential difference between two stated points. phoselu is technical power, the rate at which energy is transferred or converted. A battery may hold much kenua energy and still deliver little phoselu; a voltage reading may be present while the device does no useful work.

thewaki kenua means electrical energy, and thewaki sekaru phaliso describes an electricity-transfer network. Exact readings and ratings remain in their source record, together with the circuit, provider, and equipment identities. Political authority and interpersonal influence use their own vocabulary, so technical phoselu need not carry either English sense of "power."

Signals, control, feedback, and feedforward

A kirowi is a detectable variation read as information, and its source, medium, and meaning are each worth naming, since a signal can point at a mirela state without commanding anything or guaranteeing that the reading is correct.

ketora stays inside the technical fence: adjusting a process or a variable, never a person. turelo needs a real return: something about a later output or state has to reach back and change what came before it. A circular diagram is not yet feedback until something actually loops back and shifts course.

naropu feedforward changes control from an observed or expected input before the resulting output returns. A cistern controller may reduce incoming flow after an upstream rain report instead of waiting for the water level itself to rise. Prediction supplies an expectation; feedforward begins when that expectation changes the control.

Capacity, load, storage, and efficiency

henora is how much a system can hold, process, or deliver under stated conditions; takori is the demand actually placed on it. The exact units belong in the record whenever they change what the claim means.

phelure retains something for later retrieval, and the verb alone leaves open whether the store has room, keeps its contents safe, or belongs to anyone in particular.

poruli compares a chosen useful output against a chosen input, so every efficiency claim carries a boundary and a value choice inside it. A process can be efficient and still be harmful, unjust, or unable to reach the people who need it.

Faults, failures, and outages

A kiphira is an abnormal condition that may or may not go on to cause trouble. thonuki says a required function simply did not happen. The fault, the failure, its cause, and the person responsible for the fix are four different claims.

A seluwhe is the stretch of unavailable service a user actually experiences. A single component can fail with no outage following, and an outage can happen with no component failing at all: planned work, a missing input, or an outside interruption can each take a service down on their own.

Calibration, inspection, and specifications

masuro relates a device to a stated reference and may adjust that relation. nilaki examines a condition against criteria more broadly. A person can calibrate a device without inspecting the whole system, or inspect without calibrating anything at all.

kisholu names a set of technical requirements; the exact values, wording, and version stay in the source record, since precision there is usually the whole point. Meeting a specification says nothing yet about whether its requirements were wise or current.

Hazards, redundancy, and reliability

pemaru names a potential source of harm, apart from how likely it is or who it might affect. wepanu says independent backups exist for a function, though a shared cause can still take every path down together. koluri reports steady performance, but only for the function, the conditions, and the duration actually stated.

The three answer different questions, and a system can pass one while failing another: redundant and still unreliable, reliable and still carrying a hazard, one hazard reduced while the system as a whole stays no safer.

Source technical information

Measurements, units, formulas, identifiers, standards, protocols, and versioned technical wording stay outside the Phi passage. The module supplies the relations around such material; it does not translate the artifact itself. poweshi identifies voltage and phoselu identifies technical power, while a record such as 48 V or an equipment rating remains exact.

When technical meaning outgrows the module, a transparent expression, a word shared from another path, or a new root admitted through the word-creation protocol can take it further. Foreign-name pronunciation aids help conversation but carry none of the word's technical definition.

Phi carries the analysis around the record. It identifies the system and boundary, follows what enters and leaves, and states the condition actually observed; it can also show which components depend on each other. Exact preservation keeps the record precise. Interpretation and safety require their own evidence.
