Choosing the joiner
The inventory is complete: nela, thona, sola, we, and the period. Fluency in coordination is mostly the quick, honest answer to one question: what relation am I actually claiming?

The last two rows belong to chapter 18 and were drilled beside their relators in the adverbial-clauses pamphlet; they appear here because the choosing happens together. A contrast that fits inside one thought takes thona; a turn that deserves its own breath takes the period and the marker. Scope is the choice, and the choice is audible.
02What and does not say
nela adds no sequence and no cause. mia to theo nela to shelomu. reports reading and understanding, level; it does not say the reading produced the understanding. When cause is the claim, the grammar has real words for it: the lao frame inside one sentence, thelao across two. English lets and carry causation on its intonation; Phi asks the relation to show itself, which means a chain of nela clauses stays honestly what it is, a list of things that are all true.
03Two facts, one sentence or two
Even nela competes with the period. sileta sulae nai nela howeli phaelu nai. holds the warm sun and the peaceful wind in one sentence, one composed scene; the same facts as two sentences arrive as separate observations. Neither is more correct. The single sentence claims the pairing; the pair of sentences lets each fact stand alone. Coordination is a gift of composition, and like every gift in this grammar, it is offered, never demanded.
Practicename the relation first
For each, name the relation, then build it.
- I feel peace and love. Level, together.
- They speak, but the people do not listen.
- The claim "I read and therefore understood," said honestly.
- The friend came. Add the child's coming alongside.
Answers: 1 mia shea nela lothea phaelo. 2 shia haolu thona lo miona ma sheluo. 3 Not nela: the relation is cause, so the frame says it: lao mia to theo mia to shelomu., or across two sentences with thelao. 4 melu to shua. we lopia to shua. The relation named first, the joiner chosen second: that order of operations is the whole part in one line.
