Part 2
Names and adaptation
A Phi sentence can name a referent with ne plus one valid Phi token. The token may be a listed content word or a productive onym with two, three, or four legal syllables and no duplicated syllable with an onset.
mia nomei ne samira nai. 1SG name NAME samira be. (My name is samira.)
A name with five or more syllables, multiple tokens, a non-Phi shape, or dependence on another script remains outside the Phi passage unless its bearer or naming community accepts a valid adaptation. The source form may be displayed next to a Phi account, but it receives no Phi particle and occupies no Phi syntactic position.
Source name outside Phi: Amina
Possible bearer-approved onym: ne hamina
Similarity does not grant permission. A person may prefer the source form only, choose a different onym, change an earlier choice, or use no Phi adaptation. The name belongs to its bearer in every language.
